One-Pot Swedish Meatball Pasta

Here is what you’ll need!

Serves 4

Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef
½ cup seasoned breadcrumbs
½ finely minced onion
1 egg
½ tablespoon salt (for meatballs)
½ tablespoon pepper (for meatballs)
2 tablespoons canola oil
2 cups beef broth
2 cups milk
½ tablespoon salt (for sauce)
½ tablespoon pepper (for sauce)
1 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
4 cups egg noodles
1 cup shredded parmesan cheese
½ cup chopped parsley

Preparation:

1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, egg, salt, and pepper, mixing until evenly combined. Heat the canola oil in a pot over medium-high heat. Take about a golf-ball size of the meatball mixture and roll it into balls. Place the meatballs into the pot, cooking for one minute. Flip the meatballs.
2. Add the beef broth, milk, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce and give it a stir. Bring the liquid to a boil, then add the egg noodles. Stir constantly until the pasta is cooked and the liquid has reduced to a sauce that coats the noodles, about seven to eight minutes. Add the parmesan and the parsley, stirring until the cheese is melted. Serve!

this is visually pleasing but i think a good cooking video isn't just about step by step recipe becuase learning how to cook, you learn what to look for in dishes, some dishes doesn't go by direct instructions, it comes from just tasting or watching the food cook and develope color. a good cooking video isn't about just cooking, it's creating technique and developing your own style. I think some people forget what it takes to be a chef or line Cook at a restaurant and videos like these make us forget it takes time and practice.?

This recipe is easy to make however the amount of salt is way off. I couldn't even eat it. instead of 1/2 tbsp of Salt, it should be 1/2 tsp.?

if you make this, have a plan b just in case it doesn't turn out. I used less salt and pepper than they called for and it was still too salty. the milk burned since that's what happens to milk when it's boiled. the sauce didn't thin out like theirs. but can you really expect 4 cups of liquid to reduce that much in 8 minutes? and the meatballs were undercooked. terrible!?

This seams really tasty but.
In sweden the meatballs are smaller and we fry them in BUTTER, very important, and we eat them with boiled potatoes. And with this we serve "brunsås" or "gräddsås" (no difference) It's cream, salt, pepper and soy sauce.

I'm sure that alot of Swedes will say: "My grandma does it blah blah…" and that is the case quite often, it varies.
But as an overall look, and the way that every Swede would recognize!?

I finally made this! ? I was looking forward to it for the longest and it was totally worth it. Used almond milk and cut the broth with water, also subbed the beef with veggie ground soy crumbles (was super worried that they wouldn't hold their shape ?) but it all turned out perfectly??

Made it today after seeing the video. Only had 2% milk so I added 6 oz sour cream at the end along with freshly grated Parmesan orregiano and parsley . Came out perfect. I didn't measure everything according to directions (salt & pepper to my liking), and used 1/4 cup onion instead of 1/2. You have to use your own judgement when cooking. If it looks like the recipe adds too much spice, use less. You can always add spice but can't remove it. The noodles took a long time to cook and I think the meatballs would be perfectly… Read more »
